Lake Tahoe Vacation Condo Rentals |
Straddling the state line of California and
Nevada, Lake Tahoe has drawn tourists for about 150 years.
America’s largest Alpine Lake at 22 miles long and 12 miles
wide, the elevation of the Tahoe shoreline itself is at over
6,000 feet. Surrounded by the majestic Sierra Nevada, the
Lake Tahoe Basin is a remarkable year-round vacation destination
with outdoor activities geared for every season.

Winter sports reign from early December through much of April.
Sometimes the ski season is extended due to weather conditions,
when early snowfalls bring on skiing as soon as mid-November
and late snow can continue skiing through May. Spring, summer
and early fall are excellent times for hiking, sightseeing,
Alpine golf and enjoying water activities on the amazing clear
waters of Lake Tahoe.
Gambling is another big attraction to the Lake Tahoe area. The
state of Nevada has allowed gambling since 1931. Prominent names
in the business are Caesars, Hilton and Hyatt. A few miles beyond
the northern part of the lake is Reno, called "The Biggest Little
City in the World." Major casinos are popular there as well
as in South Lake Tahoe where there are four major casinos: Harrah's,
Harveys, Horizon and Caesars in Stateline.
